Green tea is a great antioxidant that also helps boost your metabolism and burn through fat. Healthline reports, “Animal studies suggest that the active compounds in green tea can aid this process by boosting the effects of some fat-burning hormones, such as norepinephrine (noradrenaline).” The report also mentions how green tea extract is great for burning more fat during exercise. “In one study, men who took green tea extract before exercise burned 17% more fat than men who didn’t take the supplement. The study suggests that green tea can boost the fat-burning effects of exercise.”

Cayenne pepper is included for its ability to boost your metabolism, curb hunger, and increase calorie burning.

Ginger is beneficial for your cardiovascular system, brain, and digestive system. It is able to improve how your body deals with blood sugars and fats. The mechanism by which ginger helps fight fat are still being studied to this day. A review at PubMed states, “Ginger could modulate obesity through various potential mechanisms including increasing thermogenesis, increasing lipolysis, suppression of lipogenesis, inhibition of intestinal fat absorption, and controlling appetite. This review article provides some convincing evidence to support the efficacy of ginger in obesity management.”

Black pepper is in this blend not only to aid in the bioavailability of the turmeric, but also because black pepper’s piperine has been shown to inhibit the formation of new fat cells (adipogenesis).
